二级研究员,中国科学院大学博士生导师,中国科学院亚热带农业生态研究所党委书记,副所长。1989年毕业于华中农业大学畜牧系,获农学学士学位;1995-1998年在内蒙古农业大学攻读动物营养学博士学位,1998年7月获博士学位;2000年7月至2001年7月在美国University of Illinois动物科学系从事高级访问研究。现任中国科学院亚热带农业生态研究所学位委员会主任;兼任联合国国际原子能组织农业项目科学顾问,中国畜牧兽医学会动物营养学分会副理事长,湖南省奶业协会会长,湖南省畜牧兽医学会副理事长。长期从事反刍动物营养生理与代谢方面的研究工作,曾获国家科技进步二等奖2项,湖南省科技进步一等奖4项,中国科学院科技进步二等奖和三等奖各1项;2005年获国务院政府特殊津贴,2010年入选湖南省新世纪121人才工程第一层次,2017年担任科技部“畜禽消化道健康与养殖生态安全创新团队”首席科学家,入选国家级科技创新领军人才。先后主持国家自然科学基金重大国际合作项目和重点项目、中国科学院“创建生态草牧业科技体系”先导专项(A类)项目、湖南省重大科技专项、国家支撑计划课题以及科技部国际合作项目40余项。在The ISME Journal、The Innovation、Journal of Nutrition、Journal of Dairy Science和Journal of Animal Science等SCI 收录期刊发表研究论文200余篇。

研究方向包括:(1)反刍动物关键营养素代谢与高效利用;(2)胃肠道微生态稳衡及其与宿主互作机制解析;(3)优质畜产品形成机理与调控;(4)农牧复合过程养分循环与环境效应。
